After the Band Goes Home

img_6907Poem a day #6 is a response to prompts from Poetic Asides and NaPoWriMo:  1) Write a poem using the phrase “After (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem, and 2) write a poem of the possible.

We walk out in a bit of snow

and don’t have to be home now

nowhere our evening sounds

like you said I gotta find fingers

to play time for tomorrow night

we will get together for dinner

on the weekend if you want me

weather sounds the plan forward

Rain rather than snow today
